Its nice when things just work out.

Today I went to the range with one shot each of 88-95gr retumbo in half grain increments behind 300gr bergers. This was solely supposed to be a 'pressure test' for my AX 338 to see what range I should my actual ocw in.

To my surprise, I'm not even sure if I need to do a full ocw. Just from the single round pressure test, it was extremely clear were the nodes are. All the bullets went into two distinct nodes, about 3 inches from each other. 91gr,91.5gr,92gr literally went into .4moa and if you include 92.5 it would open it up to a dash over .5moa.

My savage 110ba ended up with great accuracy after finding the nodes and a couple rounds of fiddling with charge and seating. But it took a bunch of range trips to find what shoots great. I'm just astonished how well this worked out.

So this is what all the accuracy international raving is about huh....I can get used to this!

The only thing I'm a little disappointing in are the velocities. 92gr was 2777. I was hoping for atleast 2800, considering that is how fast my 110ba was and its a whole inch less.

I didn't really see pressure at 94.5gr and that was 2868.. So maybe I'll have to explore the 93.5 range
