Odd hobbies

I've built a couple of custom chassis rc rock bouncers. Here's the last one I did. Mig'd the entire chassis and put Holmes hobbies motors and servos in it. Will run up to 32volts. Runtime on these us typically about 45 min to an hour. So much torque it will break the steel driveshafts. Fully locked axles.

Damn man, that is fucking COOL!

What stock do you you use for your chassis? I only ask because it looks like pretty small stuff to MIG

3/16" solid round stock. This is considered a 1/10th scale truck. Bent the stock with a heavy duty brake line tool. I don't use jigs or anything it's all one off custom cut pieces. It takes me forever to get the geometry right and the droop/skid plate sitting right. Lots of fun and just as expensive as shooting if one were to really get into it. I just did a wrangler jeep kit for my daughte...... They are fun Bogey.

I can definitely see how you could go down the rabbit hole with that hobby.

I'm applying to a welding program right now and have one more test and assessment before I find out if I've got a slot. It's something I've dicked around with and always wanted to learn properly. RC trucks is an expensive project I'd never considered being able to tackle.

With his mad welding skills I'm surprised @oneshot86 hasn't made himself a full sized version to terrorize his neighborhood.

.023 wire helps a lot versus using .30. tig or brazing would probably be more appropriate but everyone is brazin these nobody is mign them.....
