Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

All those barrels are k&p cut rifled. I just started buying a few blanks to keep on hand for myself and friends. Then I bought more, and more. I try to keep common lengths, caliber and twist rates on hand, examples, .224 1-7.5 6mm 7.5 twist, 6.5 mm 7.5 and 8 twist, 7mm 1-8 twist, .308 1-8, 1-8.5, 1-9, 1-10, .338 1-8, 1-9. Then there's. .375 and .458, .510 stuff too. I try to keep one to 6 of each around. I go through the most .308 8.5 twist so I keep some 28" and 33" long the .300 norma improved is really common. I love to shoot, enjoy machining my stuff and do a bunch for friends. Got a bunch of machines in the shop to support my other business and honbies. As far as dealing with the public, I don't do any, but I'll sell a barrel off here and there if someone's in a hurry. There's a few times a year where i can't spend any time messing with it, spring planting season anf fall harvest season i have about zero spare time if the farm equipment needs to be running.

What did the weight finish out at?
As it sits in the photo it is 11.85 pounds. The carbon fiber handguard is much larger than the OEM metal one, but yields the same weight. The full length 0 MOA top rail weighs the same as the OEM 30MOA rail. Overall no weight savings, but better functionality of the rifle.

#1 The ability to accept an integral suppressor up to about 1.75" OD allowing the use of a full length handguard with sub 22' Barrels and the ability to run magnum cans with a 22" barrel, something that cant be done with the regular M2.
#2 More space with M lock nuts making barrel swaps much easier
#3 A more rigid handguard, Carbon fiber has better tensile strength compared to Aluminum.
#4 holding the rifle is much nice, fits in your hand better and does not absorb the cold weather.

Another Range Day with the SRS and Covert, and as always, they don't disappoint. Just bugholes.
Tomorrow a buddy has a few Amish Friends who've cleared corn and have 1000yds visibility. So I'm putting on a literal Amish Rifle Range... Not a constellation of words I'd ever thought I'd hear. Will update.
You sure don't see that every day!

Yeah those guys compete with me hunting groundhogs in Northeast Ohio

But they also kindly allow us access to thousands of acres of their land
This guy was originally from NE Ohio; near Ogdensburg NY now. I recall we have a shared history of the region; we probably know his community.
Carpenter mostly now; excellent Line-driven shaft setup in his shop, small old diesel powering it.
Bunch of mutual contacts at my hospital put us in touch; we had a posse today. Horse and buggy dragging steel out. Only downside was main field he leases out was getting sprayed and disced today, but such is rural life for us all. Disced under and dried, and they compacted a neat path for the buggy to cut across.
Then we all went to work with my 2 DT’s (should buy an HTI for this….).
8yo amish boy just drilling the 900yd target, amongst many others.

Good platforms and good company.
