Kestrel 4500 information

4500 Bluetooth models will have the Bluetooth symbol just above the left side of the screen. Also there will be a Bluetooth option on the main menu. To build a profile, you can either connect it to a Windows computer (with Bluetooth or cradle) and use AB Profile Loader. Or if you have an Android, you can use nVisti Companion app.

https://kestrelinstruments.com/applied-ballistics-profile-loader

The Applied Ballistics Profile Loader has been created by our partners at Applied Ballistics to easily create, transfer, and store bullet/gun profiles.

The nVisti Companion Pro is the perfect companion for your Kestrel 4500 Weather Meter with Applied Ballistics (K4500) or Kestrel Sportsman Weather Meter with BLUETOOTH. This app is NOT for usage with the K5700 Devices.

This application REQUIRES the K4500 with Applied Ballistics and Firmware version 4.93 and above. Please visit here for firmware upgrade.

How can I tie the Bushnell Conx with the included Kestrel and my separately purchased Applied Ballistics library to give me some sort of integrated application? I remember a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, I could lead the target for 1.5 seconds, laze it, get the properly indexed lead and with the mounted crosswind sensor I would get a ballistic solution that would give me first round kills out to 3kms. Is there any commercial solutions out there today for maybe 1 mile/1.6km?

I'm having trouble figuring out what to do with the bullet profile loader for Windows. I click the link, it gives me a .zip file, then I click extract. Nothing happens after that. If I go back to abloader.exe, it just starts the same process of extracting files, but I can't access an actual program for the bullet profile loader. @Kestrel Ballistics

It works! Figured it out myself after trying again

Question concerning the Kestrel/Hornady 5700 DOF gun profile screen. MV Temp is currently off. Screen indicates that you should leave the following blank if unknown: Temp. Sen. Factor, Baseline MV Temp, and Baseline MV. The first two categories are 0 however, the baseline MV temp always indicates 68 F. Should I change the 68 F to 0 F?

As long as MV Temp is turned off it won't matter what are in the fields. 68 seems to be the default number for unknown reasons.

So I have a 9 month old Kestrel 5700. The temperature reading is consistently 20 degrees or so higher than actual. No, It’s not in direct sunshine, in my hand, in may pants pocket. I’ve spun it repeatedly, blown out the temp prob area and there is no foreign matter there. Any other suggestions?
