Official USMC M40A5 parts list. :)

hey guys,

i'm a first time poster, but long time reader and shooter.

i know most of you are familiar with the parts required to assemble an 'authentic' M40A5 (or A3 for that matter). i also know this topic has been flogged to death more than the old .308 vs .30-06 debate, but i stumbled across an interesting document online while wandering around the internet recently.

its a MCSC document researching the procurement of parts for future M40A5 rifles and lists all the parts to the last detail:

its nice to see them all listed together for a change.

interesting that they note the Badger recoil lug as interchangeable with the DD Ross - seems they cant get hold of the DD Ross parts either!

anyway, thought some of you would enjoy this.

hey there,

its an attachment linked from the navy's website, its good. chrome probably has a generic warning against opening any office docs (this is a spreadsheet) as virus's cld be embedded in them.

this one is fine, ive checked it. i'm not trying to spam anyone lol. but my apology if that was the impression.

i didnt see a scope listed on there.....
what scope do they use for that sws?

im pretty sure its a Schmidt & Bender 3-12x50 PM II/LP with illuminated mildot reticle. this replaced the fixed US Optics / Unertl MST-100 10×.

but someone correct me if im wrong.
