From California but now in “the South”
To the point, Right or Left side? Just starting out with a LMT MWS (picture below). Been reading, researching, and thinking through all of the details I can (still ongoing). Have not gotten my glass yet ($), so knew I wanted BUIS at the ready when desired. I’m right eye dominant. Went for DUECK DEFENSE RTS (Rapid Transition Sight
™
with Trijicon Night Sights - Set (Front & Rear) - Right-Handed, Mil-Spec Hard Anodized). After some thought and watching some videos wondering if left side might be better. Looking for other’s experiences with these choices.

Thanks for any.

Nice rifle. You have it correct. For a right hand shooter, the 45 degree offset goes on the right side. Rotating the rifle down under to the left would be pretty awkward. I went with an older set of KAC folding 45 degree BUIS on my LM308MWS.

I cant imagine that working well going on the left side. I would play around with it different setups to compensate for the left eye dominant thing..maybe a red dot piggybacked on a scope would be smoother backup for you.

from the pic, it's set up correctly. more ergonomic and logical given the way the wrist moves and being able to put the stock on top of the shoulder in close quarters(if that technique is what you like)

Yeah, I pretty much thought so, too, was watching a larry Vickers video and he was shooting a build (shooting long range w/scope) that had them on the left. That’s what made me do a double take as he was shooting right eye/side. Maybe if you just move your head same eye,.....I’d have to try that physically to see easy the butt acts like. It just made my wheels start back up was all, lol. Tks.

Larry Vickers is left eye dominant but shoots pistols right handed, carbines left handed (runs everything standard with no "lefty" hardware).

Make sure you can run your iron always "up".
Aalll right, that makes sense now... had me second guessing my self. Tks for the info on him. All I could think was “ he’s shooting right shoulder and sights are left side”....?

I am running the exact BUIS on my Larue. I am left handed and left eye dominant. They are mounted on the left hand side but are the LH version. They work extremely well. I would think using your left eye and the RH irons (mounted on right side) would be difficult due to the brass ejection??

Yep, I agree, the more you all bring up the more the standard left or right simple turn of a wrist to a (then) vertical “Hard Site” on the rifle, makes “best” sense. Importantly, the ability to maintain a proper stable shooting platform physically with less rifle body/head lineup shifting about is also best facilitated. Very helpful from you all to mental this through, Tks.
