Rifle Scopes Ok to use steel base with alum. rings?

Ok..silly question it may be and I search but only got Alum. vs steel rings/base.

As title says..is it ok to run setup like this. I believe it would be but just making 110% sure.

Another question..I just notice on the alum base the rail is not milled out in the middle like the steel bases are. Why is this?

Yup you will be fine with those.

As to base design, no idea. I have seen steel with the middle not milled out. Probably just depends on manufacturer and what they want.

My guess is weight savings. Steel is probably strong enough that you don't actually need all of the material to cross.
