Going to ask that one too. I am fond of the UFC/Sherdog style layout of the previous board which gave an air of the cross between an auto repair shop and a MMA training gym. This one is a bit bland. The older one had attitude. Just my 2 cents, and I praise all the work and effort that Frank has put into keeping this place running.
The letters seem smaller, harder for my old eyes to read. Anything I can do for that?

Should be able to click font size and go from the default medium to large or extra large. I have not tried that one so not sure.

No, seriously, my background was always black and never bothered me but the new setup altogether is sorta distracting to my eyes. If there was a way to make the whole thing look like it did I'd be down with that but I sorta doubt it. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
Not trying to get Frank wound up, I know he hates it when we bitch about changes and I'm bigtime grateful for the 'Hide, the only site on the net worth a damn. Don't want more busy work for the guys that make this shit happen, but if there was a way to make changes I would like to know how.
I think a tutorial thread would be nice, then you could just say "go read that".

Get out of Frank’s ass for a minute and realize that those of us that are using a phone as our primary, if not only access to the hide now have a font about size 4 to try and read. Don’t be a dumbass! Even Frank knows that after every upgrade there are sometimes things that have to be tweaked.

Thinking along the same line here... Frank is probably just perusing this raw new product right now and wondering what has to be buffed and sanded so that it can be a functioning and reliable layout. It's like a factory mint, out-of-the-box Colt 1851 Navy versus an 1851 that has been fine tuned for cowboy action speed shooting and quick draw. Very few competitors in this particular sport uses out of the box guns on the firing line...

Sorry to interrupt the catfight but I have a question... Is there a setting to tell when you have read all the posts in a thread? The old layout was easy to tell because the title was not bold if you were caught up. I can't tell on this layout. Anyone know?
Not exactly, but you can change the color scheme down at the bottom left where it says Snipers Hide Dark. Click on that and you have two other choices. As to font size, you have to go into your Preferences and change it to large or extra large in order to read it without a magnifying glass. Not sure what else can be done at this time.
I've noticed a distinct trend lately for forums and other social websites to change what does look like something of a downgrade. Lots of flat colors, no/few borders or fake shadows, a lack of a 3D effect, all in all a very minimalist design. Like something you'd see in an Ikea. Sometimes that works out just fine and makes the sites load faster or look better on a phone, other times it does seem like a distinct step backward lacking in style. It's alright on my computer but from what I'm seeing it's really tiny on phones. Haven't tried it yet.
Personally my only gripes are that I liked the black-black background while the new Dark Theme is more of a really dark grey, I miss the more distinct edging and borders of the threads, and that there's now extra black corners surrounding my intentionally-circular avatar that used to fit perfectly into the allotted space. Otherwise, hey if the site works better and faster (especially on my phone), that's cool. We'll get used to it sooner or later.
(Oh and there's a typo in the blurb at the veeery bottom of the page over the social media icons. Should be "its users", not "it's".)

it appears they just updated the options for the skin and several are repeated name wise but there is no upgrade to them

Frank, at the bottom as well you use to be able to navigate back into the forum and/or subforum. Can't now without hitting back button. Also soon as you use to begin to scroll back up you'd see your PM envelope but no more unless you're at the top of the page.
Its a color fix, super fast and easy, I wrote them we need to go through each skin again and fix the colors

I would recommend the Sniper's Hide Dark* theme
That has the navigation back, and the original options

I liked the old white and green even though it was missing some clip art and stuff making it look incomplete, it was easy on the eyes but really my only gripe is this ^^^
I liked when a read thread was lighter and thinner and a thread with some new posts in it were dark and bold in the sub forum sections.
Now they all look the same and the “mark thread as read” button does nothing that I can tell.
I was very intent on reading every post of every thread in a few subforums that I really cared about so I could ensure that I was efficiently gathering up every bit of info I could manage, and that allowed me to tell easily when there were some new juicy bits to read. Now it all looks the same and I don’t really want to look at any of them, it seems daunting starting over each time.
