Howdy.
I was offered the opportunity to purchase an authentic Leupold Mk 4 M1 16X built in 1992 for $600. Condition is good with very minor ring marks. Should I go for it?
They are the business , do it . I have two which were converted by Premier Reticles to 24x and they both have approx 148 MOA & 50 MOA as opposed to the 140 MOA & 45 MOA that Leupold state .
My mistake, I mentioned 600, seller only wanted 500. It was made in 1992. Came with the original box, paperwork standard elevation knob and a custom knob set for 155 AMAX at 2825 fps (60°F 2500' elevation). Very faint ring marks, no dents, glass is pristine.
HA! Previous owner wanted something more compact for hunting purposes. I am not a hunter, fixed 16X on a 308 seems odd for hunting, very reduced field of view.
