Night Vision Old russian nspu

Are these light gatherers or IR type nv. Heard it both ways and the one i have doesn't seem to have IR.

I think per the nomenclature you are talking about a 1pn34 which sometimes went by the name nspu (the 1pn58 went by nspum). If you do have a 1pn34 unit its a cascade style gen1 unit, comperable to a US pvs-2.

I have one as well, its a starlight scope. You can use an external IR with it. If you can, I recommend removing the recital assembly and clean the lens. If it hasn't been done it makes a difference.
