Re: Old winchester Model 70 PF action
I have a M-670 that needed some TLC when I found it. I wanted a project/tester to play with during my infrequent visits to the range. I found a takeoff target barrel from a pre-64 at a steal. My smith said it looked like it had lots of life left in it so he chambered it 30.06.
So far it has proven to be a sub-MOA rifle out to 300 yards. Just wish I could get over to Oak Ridge or down to Piedmont to shoot a little farther.
Have your smith bead blast the action and put a good cover finish on it. Have him true it up and then have fun working with it.
