Older model TRG 22 question

I know that the newer TRGs come with a pic rail already attached, but for the older gens how does the factory pic rail attach?

I dont remember the receiver being tapped and I dont see any side bolts on the factory pic rail? My buddy has a newer one with screws in the top. Can anyone shed a light for me.

I purchased an older gen TRG 22 and dont know if I shoudl buy the factory pic rail or not. Im not going to tap the receiver and Im not going to run a a clamp on pic rail. If it is a clamp on deal, ill go with a spuhr.

Re: Older model TRG 22 question

Ben,
I think you may need to go with a Spuhr as I had an older TRG (back in the 90s) and I don't recall being able to mount a rail on it. Spuhr or TRG may be your only option.

Let me know if you get bored with it

Re: Older model TRG 22 question

Ben!!! Doesn't answer your question, but I just sold my TRG with Near rail. I think I've got the OEM low-profile 0MOA rail sitting around somewhere. If I can find it & you can use it, I'll send it to you if you pay postage. Just pay-it-forward vs sell it if you don't end up needing it.
