I've seen a couple older NF BR 5.5-22 scopes selling used for around $900. Are these the same as the current NF BR line? Are they a good deal or are they giving up something significant to the newer NF scopes.

Re: Older Nightforce BR scopes?

No response on this? I've taken the advice of people here to hold out for a NF. Meanwhile, I'm seeing a few NF BR 5.5-22's for $900 or so. Wait for funds to buy NXS?

Re: Older Nightforce BR scopes?

Not sure if this is much help to you, but I have 2 older NF BR 8-32x56 scopes (on a 6br and 50bmg) and they are just as clear and repeatable as my 5.5-22x50 NXS scopes. The objective parallax adjustment and 1/8 moa turrets aren't all that great for tactical work, but excellent for punching paper. HTH.

Re: Older Nightforce BR scopes?

I've got both the NXS and the scope you're talking about (The Varminter). It is, to the best of my knowledge, the same as the current BR scopes. I think Russ's question is most important to answer first. Depending on what you plan on using the scope for the Varminter might nor might not be a good call.

Re: Older Nightforce BR scopes?

I was asking more in general about the optical quality between the new and the old. Considering the prices I've seen them going for. (although I would like to buy a tactical/practical scope for my 308). I just thought these might be decent deals for general use.
