Rifle Scopes ? On badger ordnance rings

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that in no way should the diameter of the cap be different than the base. But I’ve never owned Badger rings ....
If there was a gap between the halves the arcs will line up. Just like it’s supposed to.

They are not parted on centerline. It looks like the bottom of the parting line margin is on centerline. Place the top cap on the optic... I'm guessing no light will shine through. This very well may be intentional.
If there is light... then Its probably a mismatched cap. Not sure what size is only 1mm or so less in diameter than 30mm though so it seems unlikely

I’m almost certain every set of badgers I have look like that. Here is a set I just sold that I had from brand new.

You know, I'd call 'em just to be sure. I use Badger all the time, they're my goto and never had a problem one. For some reason your picture looks familiar but it's been a while since I mounted one.
They're also probably the most copied ring design out there too. I also have a pair of cheap knockoffs that look IDENTICAL to Badger rings. They were $20 for the pair. So I only buy these from the mfg.

Yeah.. what the heck. Call and ask... and report back. I'm curious if they say they're parted off centerline
turn the top cap upside down and line it up with the bottom. if the arc matches, then they match. I'm almost positive my badger AR mounts are like this. Never had a problem out of them. I'm pretty sure I had the same thought, but then I looked at them for a minute and it seemed clear to me that it was intentional.

I’ve got 4 sets of badger rings and they are all like that. No need to waste their time with a call. Mount your scope and be done with it, they are fine.

That's how they are supposed to be. There is a small relife cut in top of the lower section. The arcs line up.

It's not smaller, it is an optical illusion.
The ring is cut above center to reduce the chances of the gap between the top and bottom from pinching your scope in the event they were over tightened or
if the ring cap was ever impacted
After looking at it and thinking about it it makes sense and really cant believe that i didn't think of that to began with .
