I duracoated the barrel after bead lasting, I will do the action next.

I think you will be very happy with your Criterion barrel. I have one on my Savage in an AICS and shoots as good or better than any other barrel I have owned, to include Rock Creek, Bartlein, and Douglas.

I considered this very build (Stiller LA and Criterion Remage 7Mag or 300WM barrel) but can't justify the extra $ when I am getting .35" to .45" ctc groups with my Stevens action and heavy barrel. Nice looking 6.5x55, post pics of the 7RM when done.

eta: Nice tactical toes

Don't get me wrong on the Stiller actions, I have had my pudgy little cheeto covered fingers on one and the machining was exquisite and the groups were tiny (damn fine rifles). You will be happy with the results based on what I have seen from a buddy's build.

Your toes are too straight to be Army issue. :)

I've always been intrigued with doing a remington barrel nut for a switch barrel, but wound up with a Surgeon 1086 instead.
I was up at Lewis for a while too (193,194), beautiful country for sure I never should have left and came down here....

I have built three of the Rem./Age rifles for other folks so far. They do shoot well. The last one has a Rock Creek barrel on it. It is being Cerakoted now. Hopefully will finish it this weekend.

18 E, Rgr. My LTC was a 1st grouper as well, he just retired I forget what ODA he was?.I am dropping my papers this month, 24 years now.

Krummarine, my H&S stock needed no in-letting for the nut.
barrel is from Jim Briggs, great guy, give him a call

I have a 243 fast twist remage, 2 savage prefits in 6 br fast twist, and had an ar10 bull in 6.5cm. All criterion barrels. They clean up like my bartliens, have accuracy on par or better, and they're fast. 2 different 6 br barrels are throwing105-108 bergers@2920 fps and stacks em in the .2s or better. +1 on Jim Briggs, super nice guy and very knowledgeable on savages.

huskemew or G7 Night force, since I made it as a walking hunting rifle, it is lighter than my current LR hunting rifle
my current one has a heavier barrel and Laminate stock it weighs about 15 pounds

this new one, Stiller is at 10 pounds with a temp scope Sightron S3 on it
