Pretend the world has gone mad, supplies are dwindling and you could only stock up on ONE .30 cal projectile for both your 308 (1:11 22") and your 300WM (1:10 26")... What would you pick?
Elephant sized game, 4000 yards and under....What is the purpose of the bullet??
Target only?
Hunting? Hunting what game? What range?
Hunters particular IMO often overlook the bullet choice...when IMO it's one of the most important things to consider. It has to shoot well AND perform well.
I use a 130gn Barnes TTSX in one of my .308s, Nosler 168gn BT in the other. Both are sub moa and lights out.
I love them for my 300WM, but 1:11 seems slow for these. I should load some up and see what happens.208 ELDM
I use them in a AI AT 308 win 26” 1:12 and in a Sako Carbonlight 300 win 24” 1:11. And they shoot very well. You must tried them.I love them for my 300WM, but 1:11 seems slow for these. I should load some up and see what happens.

What kind of velocity you getting?I use the 208 eld-m in a 700 5R 308 with 11.25. My favorite projectile - great value, BC, and reasonable velocity.

Both will like the 175 gkI’ve got 168SMK for 308 and my 300WM loves the 180SGK. Even though I haven’t taken game with the 300, it does love those game kings. I haven’t run the 180’s in my 308 yet but now that you proposed the idea of using one bullet in both, I may give it a try and see if the 308 likes the 180 game king as well.
