The only blue part of VA :(
that wont break the bank?

need one for my nordic 22 AR upper. I can get out to 200 or so with a flat base and the hold over on the reticle to maybe 250ish. would like to be able to dial to 300.

im sure the nightforce is the cats ass but i'm not dropping 200 on the mount for my 22lr.

FWIW i have the SWFA single piece mount on it now (SSALT i think they call it)

thanks!

Yup. Badgers pop up here from time to time for $70-90 (I just sold one, and kicked myself soon after, they're nice to have around).

Or drop the money on a SWFA SS 16X or 10X......

It would be cheap at least. </div></div>

Umm, wouldn't the barrel and scope's relationship stay the same?

Re: one piece AR mount with some elevation built in?

What size scope? If 30mm my mount is a bit cheaper than the NF. If 1" the Nikon M223 would work--it's a step down from mine and the NF but should be OK for use on a 22.

Re: one piece AR mount with some elevation built in?

30mm. i have a SWFA SS 3-9 mounted on it right now and i have 9.4 mils of "up" left with a 50yrd zero. that seems about right to get to about 225 or so, holding with the reticle, maybe 275 before i get into the post.

looks like i could probably go the badger route and use regular scope rings vs the one piece setup i have now.

2 things i'm tryin to do while getting my max distance out of the rifle.

1) stay within a reasonable budget (rules out Spuhr mount)
2) keep the scope as low as possible

The Badger base (at around $85) is a great cost effective option. Even if you have to sell your current rings and get another, lower set of rings, you will still likely come out ahead of going with a 1pc mount. The other problem with many 1pc setups is the height that they put many scopes (especially those with smaller objectives like the SS 3-9x) up off the rifle too far which somewhat defeats your goal of keeping the scope as low as possible.

??
Not if you only shim the back.

Re: one piece AR mount with some elevation built in?

SkaerE,

ORD has posted what you need twice now.

no other mount is as good as the badger 22 MOA rail.

You run low rings, like on the bolt action rifle and stick it on. No need for anything else.

Trust me,

you will like it alot.

You can take a scope from your bolt action, move it over to the AR and back again.

No change of the rings.

Aren't these pretty costly?

Re: one piece AR mount with some elevation built in?

yes they are, i actually just answered off the title, just went back and read the original post. might be a bit overkill for the use. my bad
