This is probably a dumb question, but...is there a difference in overall height of bases between manufacturers?? Ex: Are Badger one piece bases higher than Leupolds...

The reason I ask is that I want to raise my scope off the barrel a little bit more and I like my BO Max-50 Rings...If I can get a higher base, I will do that instead of new rings...

Re: One Piece Base Question

yes they are different......I think the Ken Ferrel is one of the thickest I have seen. Seekings, Badger are about the same, the leupold is proly a little lower on the newer 1913 spec one...the older one was really low.

Any clue if specs are available online??? I've gone on most of the manufacturers websites and haven't been able to get heights...

Re: One Piece Base Question

I just happened to have a Ken Farrell mount on my bench, so I pulled it out and measured it just out of curiosity. It is for a Rem short action, 20 moa and is 0.456 in high at the front receiver ring.

Be advised, though that this is an older one and the specs may have changed. The cross slots are Weaver, and Picatinny rings won't fit. The slot spacing is also not picatinny, either, but it's a solid, heavy chunk, though.

I used it to get extra height when shooting offhand in silhouette matches.

Thanks for the Info...Ever think of selling it???

Re: One Piece Base Question

Thanks for all the info guys...My problem is that I have a older Leupold mount with at least a 20moa drop. This is causing my spacing issue. I just ordered a Farrel 0moa base which will cure my issues...
