Some nice sales this week and am considering a mount or set of mounts for a 30mm Mark 4. I like the idea of one piece with quick release and see some deals on American Defense MFG mounts.

Already have a 20MOA rail. Any suggestions on ADF or other one piece mounts or should I simply purchase two-piece regular mounts and be done with it?

That's a good question. I don't necessarily plan on moving things around too much but I like your idea of taking it off and putting night vision on for varmint hunting.

Their are some very knowledgeable folks on this site. My guess is most of them are going to steer you in the direction of a permanent mt. Or,,, use a QD mt and just leave it in place. You get what you pay for.

For tactical shooting Bobro mounts. I use them on most all of my scopes. I just sighted in a new Mark 6 and took it with my JP 223 to the NSFF fantasy camp. I had the scope on and off a dozen plus time. Easy to use and holds zero every time. Auto adjusts itself to fit super tight in the rail. And Andrew Bobro is a great guy.

I've gotten great results with my era-tac mount and ARC 1 piece. Both are qd and will lock up for a great fit.

Better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and say oh shit.....

I'm kind of focusing on American Defense Manufacturing mounts since they are more moderately priced, more than the mainstream mounts, but less than those quoted so far by a couple of hundred or so, which is appealing.

My experience with American Defense Manufacturing was not so good. I believe that was the company that was attached to the bottom of my Armasight thermal. Well it failed then when it came time for Armasight to honor the warranty I ended up eating the loss. No,,, sucking up the damage of 150 bucks did not brake the bank but it gave me the feeling I had just been taken advantage of. And no the gear had not been abused. Pay the extra $ on the front end of the transaction. Sometimes the more cash I sink into this hobby it makes me question the gall of some companies CS.

I've used American Defense on a number of match rifles for 30mm and 34mm scopes with absolutely zero issues. I still have one holding a Minox ZP5 atop a Desert Tech. In all the years I've used them, I've never had a complaint.

I've ran the AD recon with 20 moa built in on my AR. I've repeatedly tested it to see if it returned to zero, and it did every time. This is NOT a precision rifle and distance was only up to 200 yards, so take that for what it is.

The way it's designed to attach to a rail leaves no doubt it will get you very close to your zero setting on an optic. Again, close might not cut it for your application.
