Rifle Scopes One scope, two rifles, zero questions

Maybe I'm overthinking , but my plan is to have one nice piece of glass (s&b) and swap between two rifles.

I've heard of this being done before but with a qd mount, how do you keep effective zeros for both? Do you zero it to one rifle only and jot down where it holds on the other rifle and work off that?

If it means anything, using a tremor2 reticle.

Both bolt actions , just zero each time
If one is a bolt and one an AR platform you want to think about your mounting options first ,eye relief , height etc..
Make sure it feels right on both platforms.

Both are bolt actions one is a 260 rem and other is a 308.

Cant built in to the rifles.

I suppose i could re zero each time i swap but if have to take my hex tool each time for that x.x

I used a fine tip silver color Sharpe and mark 1 dot for rifle 1 and 2 dots for rifle 2. As long as both are bolt guns with pic rail, then they should not be too far off.

Use standard rings and a torque wrench. QD mounts are fine on ARs but not on precision rifles. They will mount the scope too high.

Make sure to look at mount height. You are going to have problems with an AR mount on a bolt gun. Just a warning ahead of time. Take it or not. Your money.
