OK, I've always said this is a bad idea, but now I'm thinking about it.

Is it possible to swap one scope between two similar caliber rifles, without a rezero every time? If so, with what mount and would a one-piece mount improve things? I could tolerate having to adjust turrets by a constant amount between the two rifles, but the zero moving around at random would be a no-go.

I have a .308 which I use for hunting and target now. Going to buy a 6.5 Creedmoor for 800+ metres and keep the 308 for hunting and target up to 800 metres, or days with multi distances ending up at 800 plus. The scope is a Schmidt & Bender PMII 3-20x50. Obv if I can avoid buying another $2000+ scope, or compromising on a second lower quality scope, that's good.

I use a Spuhr QD mount as my ZCO is going to be swapped around my Vudoo and my AI AX as I traded off my other scope so I could have the AI sooner. All my Spuhr mounts have been very repeatable moving them back and forth across rifles though.

Depends on how close you want the zero to be. Even using a torque wrench, some shift if going to happen, maybe not every time, but it's going to be there at some point. If +/ about 1/2 MOA is not an issue, you are probably fine. I would get some sort of boresight/collimator to confirm the install is correct if you can't shoot before use.
