What is the longest shot you have made, that hit within 1/2 MOA of where you intended it to hit? Please specify rifle, scope, caliber, load, zero, elevation or amount of holdover, wind, and whether shot off of bipod, bags, rucksack, etc., and post the target if you can. Also, if you can, please specify how far your hit was from your aiming point.

I've shot X's at 600 in F-class, from prone, with a factory rifle. It can be done, but not every time.

Downzero, I would be interested in knowing what model of rifle you shot with when you did that.

    Re: One Shot Accuracy

I cannot relate any instances of my shooting prowess, but at a recent tactical match, it featured a 600 yd cold bore shot for the first evolution.

The target was a 6" steel plate, set back in the woods, early morning light, and a little frost on the pumpkin, mild 1-3 MPH wind. The shot was done prone, with bi-pod: so 24 shooters, 23 misses, and I was with the miss crowd.

The one hit was a lot of luck, as he scored in the lower half of the pack, by the end of the day.

Cold bore shots, at small targets, with some distance, taint easy.....It takes real skill and a little luck. None of which I possess....

I couldn't do it again if I tried, but I did shoot this Cold bore @ 1000. We pasted it and shot 4 shots at it later in the day I whited them out.
Was aiming at the shoot-n-c, Hit 6 inches away.

    pacomdiver,

Thanks for the correction. The more you miss it, the smaller it gets in your memory. Just like the one that gets away, gets larger....

    See you next shoot,

    Bob

36" disc, great for long distance, you can identify hit from shooting platform.
