Gents, I just bought a Manners t4a elite from a member on here who thought the barrel channel was heavy varmint but it turns out it is more like a heavy Palma. Needless to say my heavy varmint barreled action does not even come close to fitting. This stock is amazing like all manners stocks so it leaves me with the question of whether I should try to open up .25” of the barrel channel or just bite the bullet and re barrel my rifle to a heavy Palma contour. The current barrel only has 600 rounds through it, but it is stupid heavy being a heavy varmint. Is opening up the channel that much just too much to do?

Yeah the cost is what I like about opening up the channel, just was unsure if taking .25” out of the channel is a bad idea

I ended up calling manners and they open it up for free. Only charge to me is the shipping. I was just nervous that opening it up to heavy varmint was too much but they assured me it will be just fine. Plus one for chad at LRI though, I had them flute a bolt and the quality of work, turnaround and customer service were second to none
