Gunsmithing Opening #5 barrel channel

I just got a great deal on a new McMillan a3 spotter. The only hold up is that it has a #5 barrel channel. Can anyone tell me the measurements on their barrel channel if they have a stock inletted for a #5? Also, if anyone has any suggestions for opening up to a medium Palma, all would be greatly appreciated.

if it isn't big enough I'll just pass the deal along that I got.

Mcmillian, or any competent gunsmith can do it. #5 aint very far away from a med palma.
