How big of a deal is it to open up a bolt face, and what is a fair ballpark figure to get it done?
Specifically, I have a Howa mini action in .223 Rem that I want to use to build a Grendel-based wildcat, and I'm wondering if I should sell the rifle I have (to include the $100 bolt knob job that was done) and buy an action with the proper bolt face, or just get my existing bolt face opened up. I'm not concerned about the compatibility of my bolt with the Grendel-sized case rim, because the action IS available from the factory with the proper sized bolt face for that family of cartridges.
Thoughts? Other things that I may not be considering?
