I am using Ramshot TAC for 308 Win in semi auto. Ramshot recommends a max load of 43.5 grains. I did a ladder test starting at 39 working up to 43.5. I am attaching a photo of the rounds shot in the 43 to 43.5 range during my previous ladder test. I have mixed them up since running the ladder test. In the 12 o'clock location you can see where the ejector is leaving an imprint, but they do not show a ring on the case body. a few of the other cases do show ring on the body, but no ejector. The rest show no pressure signs at all.
I am getting ready to run an OCW test, and I am determining that 43 is my max load for the test. I am just looking for some opinions that my numbers are good for the OCW test, because the instructions have pressure tolerances tested at lower than max charge.
Is any pessure sign too much for the OCW test?
11.It is assumed that you are an experienced reloader, and that you know to watch for pressure signs on each of the increasing charges. Fire the subsequent charge only if there are no pressure signs on the previous charge. You can safely fire the heaviest charge you loaded so long as the next charge under it showed no pressure signs. This "heaviest charge" should be about 1% over your selected maximum charge, but will be safe so long as the next lowest graduation showed no pressure signs.
Thanks for your input.
