looking for opjnions on this choice, I am looking at the CZ 513 Basic Bolt-Action Rimfire Rifle, and the bolt action Savages m2's, the ones in the 200 dollar range, you guys that owned or shot both have choice ?,..I compete with the "Sharps" rifle BPCR games, all black powder, handloads etc etc..and now am looking for a good 22 for practice in Tech, hold, wind reading etc, but I want one very accurate, no hunting, just practice target

Re: opinion, rifle choice

I own a Savage Mark II TR and it is quite accurate...still working on seeing what it likes but this is with some Wolf Target loads. Shoots the Remington Sub-Sonic rounds pretty well too and the Eley rounds are also very good with it....JaxOps

...and that was 100 yards with NW winds around 13-15

Re: opinion, rifle choice

I'm super happy with my CZ-452 Varmint. Perhaps a bit more than what you are looking to spend but you find them on the classifieds.

Re: opinion, rifle choice

If you're coming from the BPCR arena would you want to stick with irons or run a scope? I have two CZ 452 varmits and have been EXTREMELY pleased with accuracy, fit and finish. If you're considering sticking with irons take a look at a CZ 452 Lux or Military Trainer models as they have a longer sight radius and can be equipped with a nice set of aperture sights.
