I have ordered a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 FFP with the (new) EBR-2C reticle. It's a Horus-type. The problem is, it's back ordered, and the date keeps getting farther and farther away. I could get the same scope right now with the EBR-1 reticle, or I could wait for the other one to come in... I am new to scope use in general, so am having a hard time deciding how important this (better?) reticle is. Any advice? In the long run, does anyone think I would regret not waiting, or should I just get the simpler reticle and be happy?

I waited 6 months for the 2c, then realized after looking through pages and pages of the "through the scope pics" thread here that I like the cleaner, mil hash EBR-1 reticle better afterall and ordered that. No regrets.

IMHO the EBR 2C is the best of all the reticles combined if you want the Christmas tree hold points below.
Reticle is thinner than the EBR 1 and also has 1/10 mil marks for ranging.
I have the EBR1, EBR 2 and the 2B and personally I would either go with the EBR 3 or the 2C as my first choices after shooting with them.

I haven't actually used one, but based on my intended use the 2C SEEMS to be the best option. I don't really see a downside to it when compared to the 1. Mine's been back ordered since March. Ship date said June 11th. Unfortunately, on June 11th it changed to July 10th. Can't really shoot it till the end of July anyway, but I sure would like to get my hands on it...
