I think they're excellent rifles and I own two of them. I think the owner/owner's are very committed to putting out a top quality rifle. A very respected firearms trainer has said he considers them to be one of the top three AR15 style rifles that come through his classes in terms of reliabilty. Also, I personally feel BCM is priced very reasonably too..
I have a shade over 3,000 rounds on my BCM upper and it's been extremely reliable. You're more likely to have a mag or ammo related failure than a mechanical/parts failure.

Thinking of getting a BCM lower for an SBR </div></div>
Check with your dealer or with BCM, because I have a BCM factory registered SBR lower. I thought it was great since I didn't have to get the lower engraved. I'm not sure if BCM does these in very large #'s or what. Because I've never seen anyone else with one or anymore of them at the shop..
I have two BCM 14.5 uppers and I love them both one has around 3k rounds and one has a few hundred. both are extremely reliable and feel great to shoot.
If I wanted a DI upper/rifle, and LWRC doesn't make any beyond their PSD-300 BLK (though they say they plan to,) I'd grab a BCM with confidence. I would drop the LWRC DI BCG into it though (when it becomes available.) That thing is a step ahead:

Hey man, is it best to contact BCM directly? Grant at G%R tactical said that he didn't have any SBR-ized BCM lowers available.
NickH46, It prolly couldn't hurt, even if to just check with them as to how often they put out batches of lowers as factory registered SBR's. At least then you'd have an idea and then hopefully your class 3 dealer could get a hold of some.. I've asked my dealer a few times since getting mine if they would be getting more of them and they weren't sure.. I'll ask them again tomorrow though when i go there..
