Opinions of which charge for 155 scenars & XBR

Shot this this am. Need some input as to which charge weights you think I should explore further. I have my own guess but this stuff helps everyone.

These groups are at 300 meters. There is a quarter on there for reference.

One string is with Fed 210m's and the other is with CCI BR2's

Powder is the new XBR and the bullet is the 155 gr scenar.

I don't care about the speed or ES . That'll be the next step.

I'm hoping to learn from you so here goes. The BR2s definitely gave you more nodes to investigate.

Tossing out windage differences, looks like 2,3 and 6,7 with the Feds. With CCI, 1,2; 3,4; 6,7; 8,9,10. 8,9,10 might be the most likely.

I hear ya .. don't pay any attention to left and right.

I was very surprised at the overall consistency of the fed 210m group. Which is basically a 3" tall, 2" wide 10 shot group at 300 meters. ( 328 yards ).

However I shot that string second and I might have "settled in" a bit after the first 10 with the CCI's

One doubt that always sits in the back of my mind is the question of whether my own skills (or lack thereof) interfere with test results. I've been known to repeat tests 2-3 times just to make sure. I've thought about getting something like a lead sled just to eliminate me from the process.

I have shot over 4000 rds of 8208 Xbr and 155 L in Lapua case. You need to push 155s velocity, you are very low. My vertical is 3/4 inch at 300 USA, IMO optimum charge weight is a better method but others like ladder test.

At 43 grs. I'm almost in the beginning stages of compressing the load when seated just touching.
I use Win. brass.
What is your charge weight and velocity your achieving?

I'm spitting them through a 24" Bartlein.

45.+++ xbr 8208 lapua case mod palma 95 chamber 24" 2950++ they preform best in 2850-2950 more to 2950 gps suggest to work up. At some point you will hear a strange bark for a report no big deal everyone notices it that is point when it is starting to stack up.

In DTA SRS 22 inch 2930 gps shoots great at a 1000 USA tight vertical

Mmmmm i will confirm that in these tests, left/right movement is not really an issue if we are talking about a barrel that is in working condition.

Try out a little more powder.

The 42.8 gr XBR with BR2 primers looks like I might end up giving you consistent results. I always like to confirm everything again tho.

I shoot my 155s at 43.5 of 8208. Load 'em long. Ragged dot accuracy from my LTR.

Work up to more powder with the FGM 210 primers. Lapua brass, 210 primers, 8208 powder,155s should reach around 2900 fps.
