Thinking about getting one for the Rem 700. This is the green stock w/black webbing, integral aluminum bedding block and the A-3 style butt stock with the thumb hook. Anybody have/use one of these? I know they are not a McMillan/Manners etc, but is it a good stock for the dollars? How does it stack up to the HS Precision that Rem uses for their Sendero's? Looking for some input.

Just like Twitch posted, everybody gets a Bell & Carlson or HS then several months later breaks down and buys a Mcmillan or Manners. In the long run, this will only cost more money, so go ahead and do yourself a favor and buy the MCM or Manners. I have a both HS AND Bell Carlson, good stock for the money, but not built solid like the ohers, hence the price difference...

My .02 I don't like the looks of the B&C. To throw in an extra .02 I like the looks, feel, and price of the HS Precision stocks. I don't shoot for a living or compete as intensely as some of the other guys on here, but I cant really see the justification to spend the kind of money some companies want for their stocks. Now I don't begrudge anyone the right to spend their money on whatever they want, but personally I am a cheap bastard and what I have works for me.

Officially my longest post on this forum.

Perhaps to clarify things just a little bit more:

My 338 Lapua Imp. sits in a Gen 5 McRee folding stock
My 277 Allen Mag sits in a McMillan A-5 w/adj. cheekpiece
My 6.5-06 AI sits in a Manners lightweight (90% carbon) hunter stock

I'm building a 300 RUM and looking for something solid and moderate weight that can be carried. The Gen 5 and McM A-5 are not what I would consider 'carry' stocks. I have the opportunity to pick up a new B&C Tactical Medalist or a HS Precision Pro Varmint at a great low price. But no deal is a good deal if the product doesn't get the job done. I already have some experience with the HS Precision (previous Sendero owner) and I know it can get the job done. But I'm not crazy about the palm swell on the HS Gen II stocks. The B&C Tactical Medalist is an unknown to me. The Tactical Medalist seems to be built like the HS Precision, but I was hoping to get opinions on the stock from others who have used it.
