Rifle Scopes opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I have one of the Tactical 4.5-30 models.VERY nice glass, crystal clear, solid, repeatable, overall a very well made optic.I would rate it as least as good as my Leupold Mark 4.I also have 2 of the 4200 tactical models 6-24x50 (essentially the same scope I'm told) they are also 30mm tubes.Have not been sorry I bought them. They are Japan optics and glass.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I've had the 2.5-16x42 tactical and it was decent. Glass was bright, about the same as VXIII, but it was a little touchy on parallax. Clarity wasn't anything to brag about.

For few bucks more, SIII blows it away.

Sorry, I loose track of all the threads.

Yes, Sightron SIII is what I was talking about. There are several reviews on; 6mmbr, western shooter...

Check it out, you'll be much happier with SIII over 4200/6500.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I think you get a lot of scope for the money with the Elite 6500 2.5-16x42. Only negative was the clarity was not quite up to par with my Mark 4 or Burris XTR. But still good enough to get the job done.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I have a 6500 in the 4.5X30 for the money I really like it. It is on top of a 308 AR and has had no issues. Glass is clear and bright and it tracks true. I wish they would build one with the fire fly or an illuminated reticule.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I have the 3200 5-15x50 with illuminated reticle and sunshade. Obviously not quite the 6500, and I have only used it out to 150 yards, but it is crystal clear and very high quality. I have always been a fan of Bushnell scopes. I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I have a 4200 tactical (6-24x50) and suppose it good for the money, but the glass is not as clear and sharp as what you would find on a higher quality scope. Have not yet done the box test, but the elevation turret seems to be true and repeatable as far as I've tried it (only out to 300 yards).

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I have 2 of the 2.5-16 and one of the 4-30 6500s. They are great scopes for the $. Only problems I have had with mine is the 4-30 gets a little dark and the image isn't as sharp at 30X as compaired to it when it is at 25X. But from 4X-26X the glass is very good. The 2.5-16 doesn't have this problem.

Re: opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes

I've had one of the 2.5-16x42s on a custom M700 in 250 AI for a couple of years now. It's not a bad scope for the money, and I really like the pull-up knobs compared to the tiny turret setscrews on my Sightron SIIIs (four 6-24x50s & one 8-32x56), as well as the 2.5-16x range. But I've got a lot more confidence in the clicks on the SIIIs, and Sightron's optical quality is noticably better.
