Opinions on caliber for my new rifle

I am looking to shoot out to 1000 yards. I am having trouble deciding between a Surgeon in .300 win mag or a surgeon in .308. This will be my first real precision rifle and I am relatively new to the bolt gun world. Can a .308 accurately reach 1000 yards? Any opinions and information would be greatly appreciated thank you.

If you don't reload then get a Surgeon in 6.5 Creedmoor. About the same ballistics as 300wm and less recoil than 308.

A 308 will reach 1000Y OK but blows in the wind quite a bit more than the other two cartridges.
