opinions on optics choices

I've been researching various options for optics and I think I've come close to a decision. I'm hoping some of you guys might offer some feedback before I decide for sure which scope I'm going to buy.

The rifle I'm shooting is a CZ550 Varmint rifle in .308. I've been using a Springfield 6X40 scope with BDC and I'm getting really great results out of this setup at 100 yards. I've come up with a load that is consistently getting me less than 1 moa on 5 shot groups at 100 yards and sometimes I'm doing half moa groups. However, I want to extend my distance and I know this scope isn't up to the task. I have recently acquired access to a place where I can shoot up to 1,000 yards, so I want to put a scope on my rifle that can handle this distance.

At first, I considered a NF or a Leupold Mark IV, but I've decided that I want to try to keep the price at 1K or less because I'm planning another rifle build as well and will need extra funds for that.

I've decided that I want moa/moa and ffp. I almost made a decision earlier today to purchase a Bushnell Elite Tactical, but then held off while I researched a few more options. After many hours of reading about scopes, I think I have settled on a Vortex PST in 6-24x50 with ffp and moa reticle. I'll be using this rifle for mule deer hunting in the desert as well as general long range target practice.

I would welcome opinions on the Vortex PST from anyone who is familiar with it and would also be happy to hear of any other suggestions someone might have. Although I think I have pretty well studied all options in this price range, there certainly could be something I've missed, so please let me know if you are aware of a great scope with my preferred options in this price range. thanks for any help you guys can provide!

Re: opinions on optics choices

I have read a lot of good things on the Vortex PST, I'd like one myself but I jumped the gun a little and bought something cheaper. Their warranty is as good as it gets too.

The 6-24 is good for hunting and long range without a doubt. I don't think you can go wrong with the Vortex.
