Anybody have any experience with this (6mmRemAI)caliber?
Pros?
Cons?
I have a bunch of 6mm bullets from 60 grain to 105 grain and looking at a rifle cartridge that would shoot them and shoot them well.
I don't really want a serious barrel burner though.
I like performance but also want a rifle that will last for a good long time. This will mainly be a medium to lighter weight hunting rifle for deer and coyotes and the occasional range day.
I don't want to spend extra money on custom brass and would like to use existing brass to make this rifle work. I have collected a lot of standard caliber brass and probably have a good selection of 6mm rem brass (once fired). I have a ton of 243 once fired brass.
Your opinions and ideas please
Thanks

Re: Opinions on the 6mm Rem AI

6mm Rem and the AI version have length issues with the longer bullets...many will tell you to do the 6mm Rem on a long action.

I have had several 243AI's and I love that round. Shoots great to 1000 and has a mild kick, plenty of power to hunt deer and such with.

Whatever you do, if you want to shoot the heavies, get at least a 9 twist so you can shoot the 105 class of bullets. An 8 twist is even better.
