I have been kicking around what .308 to buy for months and I think I am settling in toward the M1A Scout. My eyes are getting old, so focusing on a front sight can be tough for accurate shots beyond a few before my eyes are fatigued.

While an EOTECH worked on my AR, I am not sure what to do with the forward mounted rail on the Scout. Anyone with old eyes have any experience with that?

I had a scout with a eo-tech setup it worked well, my rifles forward rail was out of spec and had to go back to springfield armory but worked fine after that.

I used the Aimpoint on my scout and it works very well for me, a friend of mine used the Burris Scout scope and it is also very nice for this rifle, it is a 2.75 power optic. I would think with your eyesight the Burris may be an advantage, Leupold also makes a scout scope at 2.5 power, but I have no experience with that model.
