I have a new hunting rifle almost complete and ready to pick up from my smith and thinking about a new scope, I have a Vortex Razor gen 1 in the safe and was going to mount this up & use it but thinking of something a little lighter. have narrowed it down to Nightforce ATACR 4-16x42 MilC or Vortex Razor HD AMG, guess I'm leaning toward the AMG simply because my old eyes could use a little more mag, these are both about the same $$ and both seem to be great scopes, any thoughts on these two scopes or maybe just use what I already have.

Mostly mule deer & whitetail 300 to 500 yards, prairie dog, & ground hog shooting, also going to use it for range practice to 1000+
Bushnell LRHSi 4.5-18x44. GA Precision is having a half off sale on these. I recommend you jump on them. I did for my next hunting and match rifle.
In that case, I recommend the AMG. Aside the the extra magnification, it is super easy to get behind.
