I'm just in the process of setting up my Rem 700 5r .308 and I am looking for some advice. The scope I'm leaning towards is the Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24x50 FFP G2DMR (ET6245FG). I like that it's FFP, I like the reticle, I like the magnification range. I just haven't been able to look through this scope outside of well lit stores. It will mostly be used for target shooting, but I will also be hunting with it (deer & moose mostly, so 1-2 hunting shots/year max). What is the glass like in non-ideal conditions?
Now on to mounting it. I really like Seekins, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go for a 20MOA base. My main concern is that there doesn't seem to be any Seekins dealers anywhere near where I live, so what height rings should I be looking for? Will mediums work? or will I need something higher?
