Rifle Scopes optics for a 300 win mag

Hi, I'm just getting into the long range game here. I've been in the AR and AK game for a while and want to do something that takes more skills. I need to get a inexpensive optic for a 300 win mag that I will be purchasing from a member. I will pick up a better one later on when I save up for it. Thanks guys. I know its a noob question

In the inexpensive good scope catagory take a look at the Bushnell Elite 4200 or 6500 scopes or the Super Sniper brand of scopes.

I started out with a leupy VX-III in 4.5-14x40LR. I sent it back to the leupold custom shop for upgrades as cash freed up.
