I have and it went reasonably well. I recommend that you find out whether the item is in stock when you order. They want to sell the items in their online catalog and will backorder it to consumate the sale.

+1 on the check stock first. Lately they have been having a ton of stuff out of stock, but they never tell you until a couple days later.
Generally I prefer other vendors, but they do deliver and it's a legitimate business.

Hey guys.
I have bought a few things off them. Pretty quick delivery, even to Asutralia, but yeah a few things i have tried to buy have not been in stock also, so differently check that first.

i really like optics planet. i have looked thru all of their stuff and found really neat things. decent prices, free shipping, had no issues with a return. my savage barrel nut wrench was super cheap. i added a $3 pack of targets and got the price over the free shipping amount. they also have ebay auctions that you can make an offer on or buy outright. but i usually just hit their site now.

pretty much gonna say the same as everyone else. check to make sure it's in stock first. good cs tho and fast shipping after the annoying export form is filled out. they get my business time and again.

Same here also... ordered a holster and mag carrier... I assumed they were both IN-STOCK because the order went through but then a short time later, received an email about the holster is Out of Stock and should be back in stock in 7-10 days. I received the Mag Carrier in a few days with free shipping via UPS. Overall I am happy with Optic Planet, just patiently waiting for the back order item to arrive.

I have ordered may items from them. If you order the item over the web, and it is out of stock, they will email you. You can just replay with a cancel order and they'll take care of it.
Some of their prices are typical, but occasionally they run some special that is significantly cheaper than just about anywhere else.
My one complaint is that their customer service department isn't as knowledgeable about their products as some place like SWFA, so make sure you know what you are ordering.

Another good thing about them is you can alsmost always find a 10% discount coupon somewhere on the internet. Just search "optics planet coupon" in google. It saves a good bit when your buying an expensive scope and you still get the free shipping.

This has happened to me 4 times in the last 2 months. I've been getting so frustrated with items being out of stock. 10 day later I call because it not at my door and I find out it will be weeks before its in. Sorry had to vent.
For optics planet I bought a tripod from them and the sale went through great, however that was a very long time ago. To be honest maybe its me but I can usually find a little better prices at different online stores. I really like their reviews.

I usually buy the major item from a smaller dealer, but I get the odd-ball accessories from Optics Planet because they show them in their online catalog. Often these odd-ball items are backordered, but I expect it.

They have done fine by me on 5 or 6 purchases ranging from $100 up to about $800.

I've only had 1 experience with them, but it was a good one.
I called in my order for a 5.11 tactical rifle case, checked to see if it was in stock, and ordered it. Shipped out the same day, and I had it in 2. I have had issues with a few other companies with not being informed when I ordered online that an item was backordered. I ordered a spotting scope from SWFA and that happened. I found out a couple days later. I guess that can happen with any online dealer. That's why I prefer to order my stuff the old fasioned way: on the phone.
If I can't get a real person on the phone to take my order, I'll buy elsewhere.

Yup the in stock thing should be checked. I ordered a USO Cooper 22 base from them thinking they had it in stock, but it was drop shipped from USO. Glad USO had it in stock. Still got it fast, but if USO wouldn't have had it, then well, I don't know how long it would have been until I found that out...
But, it was a pleasant transaction. Had my base and my Cooper all put together within a couple of days.

I've ordered several times from Optics Planet without a problem. Recently, after ordering range glasses and lenses, they emailed me immediately to tell me one item was out of stock but would ship within five days. About ten days later a package came with the complete order.
No complaints here.
