Would 1:7 twist be ok for 6xc? I'm planning on shooting 105s and 108s, may be 115s later on. Looking into getting a pre-fit barrel. They have available (in stock) 1:7 twist. I was told that for 6xc it would be fine. Reason I'm asking is I have a 6xc w/ 1:7.5 twist that shoots like a laser. So that I was wondering if it would be worth the wait or just get the 1:7

1:7 is optimal. I run 1:8, which is stable, but my next barrel will be 1:7 for sure. I shot with a very accomplished shooter who was running a 1:6.5 twist on a test Proof barrel. It shot very well also, though it's well beyond what's needed to be stable.

I have a 1:7.5 and like it as well, shouldnt ever have a problem stabilizing. That said 7 twist wont have any issues either.

It would be easy to buy a 100 dtacs and see how they shoot now before you commit to a new barrel.

I've shot both 1-7.5 & 1-7.8tw bbls on 6XCs & 6x47s, as well as quite a few DTAC 115s over the years. While I like the Bartlein 7.8tw bbls very much w/DTAC 115s, I feel a 7.5tw gives you a little margin of stability for shooting the S110MKs. Based on what I've read online, I'd thought quite a few shooters had given up on getting the S110MKs running consistently - was sure the Berger Hybrid shortage would get guys looking at the 110s again, but haven't heard much about results with them recently. I shot a few in a 7.5tw Dasher, but results were inconclusive, so I sat the remaining 110s aside.

My 6xc I shoot a 7.7 twist 27” Benchmark barrel using 115 DTACs primarily almost into the same hole. I also have some 105 hybrids but haven’t shot anything but DTACs in a few years.
