Anyone know if I order a custom one piece bolt from PTG if I'll actually get it in the turn around time the state on their website (8-12 weeks)? Or at least by November? I'm reluctant after past order issues. Anyone have any luck with them recently?

I took a chance and ordered a bottom metal and a 2-piece bolt last February. Took a little less than 10 weeks for delivery. I've had good and bad experiences with reamers requiring specific dimensions in the past. If you're willing to deal with the inevitable fuster cluck then your order will probably end up correct in the end. That said, it never hurts to pay with a credit card in the event you need to settle an invoice debate with PTG...

Mine took about six months. I had just about given up on it when it showed up out of the blue. No comms from them other than minimal at the beginning, and when I called about three months in, they couldn't find a record of my order during the call. The bolt and action have to go out for blueprinting and I'm less than confident in a smooth process given the "raw materials."

Looks like Midway has a few. Not exactly what I want.. It's a shame really, because their stuff is usually pretty nice. I have one of their one piece bolts on my .300 WM. I'm not going to sign up for the abuse.

My 2x bolt order from them both received shipping notices during week 8 and I received them during week 9. That said, I also bought an "in stock" firing pin assembly that showed over 20 available and didn't receive it for 6 weeks. They're so inconsistent. I just ordered an new bolt from Midway last night. I just hope the diameter isn't small enough to make my action feel sloppy.

Just my experience, but when I placed my order for a trued Rem 700 action, I got it in about 6 weeks and was able to get someone helpful on the phone right away the two or three times I called. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again, but take that for what it's worth because it does seem like my experience might be the exception and not the rule.

I'd recommend you give Chad at LongRifles, Inc. a call. I seem to recall he is offering bolts nowadays (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

They are pretty good, also, at calling you around the time that you should be expecting what you ordered to be delivered and saying that they only have it in some other flavor.( we have it in 308, not the 223 you paid for six weeks ago.)

I had a bad experience ordering from them last summer (bottom metal) but took a chance and ordered a reamer from them a week or so ago and got it a few days ago, so no complaints here.

I ordered an "in stock" DBM from them and it took a mere 3 1/2 weeks for them to make the damn thing and ship it, it wasn't my first order gone bad but it was my last. Dave Kiff makes some good shit but needs to fire his entire sales staff.

That about sums it up. Those female order takers are costing the company a fortune. Anyone with any business sense at all should see this.

Yeah I had one of those order takers tell me I had to pay a cancellation fee for an item I ordered that I called and was told it was in stock and never showed up, She decided she would do me a favor after being on hold for 10 minutes and go ahead and waive the fee. That's what is keeping me from committing to an order again

Running customers off one person at a time. Hell of a way to run a business.
