Hey guys, I'll be getting a Savage 10 Precision Carbine within the next month, but I need some help deciding what all to order.

I only have $700 now, but within the next week or two I'll have $1500, and then towards Xmas Ill probably have about $2000.

So I want to start ordering the stuff as soon as I can, but Im not sure what the order of importance is.

When I get up to $800, I'll order the rifle itself. Then within the week get the rings, mount, and scope.

Then like 300 rounds of a decent .308.

That will take care of the basic rifle, but I need your help deciding what other necessities to get after that as soon as I get the money.

I know I'll need a good cleaning kit. But will I need to be cleaning right away? Or can that wait a few weeks?

I'll probably try to find a good, inexpensive shooting mat/bag and something to rest the rifle on when shooting, any recommendations?

What other absolute necessities do I need to get right away?

I know there's so much that I should eventually get, but right now I just want the very basics to get shooting.

Thanks guys, I cant wait to finally get this.

.. Reloading supplies!

Bore guide and Dewey cleaning rod are useful.

Once you get the rifle set up with an optic you may want to consider a bi-pod, sling, stock pack if you need one. For a shooting mat you can use an $8 freight blanket they work great. Then I would do as much reading on the subject as you can and pick up a reloading manual.

Thanks.

I plan on getting a press and reloading supplies in the Spring. A bipod is on my list of things to get after I get necessities.
