Probably be made in China but set of pants I got from them are actually pretty good.

Wont buy their gear at full price but they enticed me try one of their $99 jackets today....

I bought a set of their Alpine Trousers on sale some 4-5 years ago.

Weirdly warm, stretchy fabric. Good for Fall through Spring. Reasonably well made but the "Made in China" tag sucks when you see the prices of their stuff.

I bought one of the heavy soft shells in Multi Cam so its $119 not the $99 price.

Looks like a copy of the Beyond Clothing soft shell.

Ill be able to compare the two manufacturers when I get the Otte product.

Local surplus store had a Coyote Beyond softshell in brand new shape for $100. That's a great jacket and was an excellent deal. Finding the London Bridge "Don't Tread on Me" IR flag in the shoulder pocket was a bonus.

Not bad at $119. Us fabric, jacket assembled by Viet Cong...

Beyond has a bit more weight to it, Otte is cut a little tighter. Beyond will cost you a big buck more.

I would go Beyond typically but at this sale price the Otte is going to be a great jacket.

if beyond is snug would you go up a size with the otte?

Beyond is not snug. The Otte seems a little tighter.

    It seems "just right".

The Beyond jacket actually has a more insulating material in it.

I don't think either are meant to have any sort of bulky layer under them.....they either are the mid layer or its the outer layer with a light layer under.

With the thought gear might be worn over these such as hard shells, plate carriers, other harness, and over duty belts. They are tailored with the idea you don't need lots of extra material in the way.

I bought a medium, Im 5'8", 180, chest is bigger than waist.

Be honest with your self, if you think you would be at the upper limit of a size I'd say go one higher.

The material is stretchy if you are in the size bracket its a good fitting jacket that doesn't look like you donned a trash bag, being stretchy its not restricting.
