Hey guys, this might be a dumb question, but is there a trick to removing the outer ring on a scope in order to install a sunshade? I've got a Vortex Crossfire II and cannot seem to twist it off. The locking ring loosens just fine, but the outer ring seems pretty solid. Trying not to mess up the scope either, so figured I'd get some advice. Thanks all!

The bell should be threaded and you just thread the sunshade into the bell - nothing to remove or loosen.
Don't remove that ring!

Can someone school me the purpose of a sunshade? Does it reduce glare that much? I kinda thought it was "sniper-y" to reduce flash...

As of right now, we don't make a sunshade for the Crossfire II but our good friends over at MK Machining have a universal sun shade that we've used with great success on any of our scopes that we don't have an available sunshade!
These shades will work on a 40 and 50, but in the meantime we don't know of any that will work on the Crossfire II 4-12x44.
