i have a muzzle brake made for a 308 that i would like to mount on my 22-250. It is obviously opened up for the 308, and i was wondering if there are going to be any problems with this? i was hoping that nothing but some recoil reducing efficiency would be lost, but i have no idea. Will this hurt my accuracy or anything? thanks

It will end up being more for looks than performance. If you really want it to hold the muzzle flat put one on with the correct exit dia.

No it won't, it will be less efficient but one will still get the effects of what it is intended to do and that is to reduce recoil and muzzle climb, how much will depend on the brake design, bullet weight, powder charge, and a whole lot of other factors. Under normal circumstances I don't think the OP would be able to tell much difference between the two calibers he is talking about.

Less efficient for sure. Without a doubt alot of factors have plenty of effect on muzzle brake performance. Put it on, try it. If he's happy, great. If he's not happy at least he knows it will work a shitload better if puts one on with the correct exit.
