I'm a big troller, not a poster but im looking for some info.....
I'm wanting to swap out my bottom metal on a FN Pbr xp with a better dBm.
My options are fn's drop in TBM, a CDI bottom that takes AICS mags but the receiver needs to be milled to accept the AI mags(not the route I prefer to take),
or a PT&G bottom that takes AICS mags and should be a drop in to the stock but I'm unsure of any other mods(ie receiver) that need to be done.

I've called PTG a couple times with questions. Although they were very nice and tried to help me they could neither confirm or deny the compatibility of the bottom and particularly any receiver mods.

Any insight would be appreciated. Also, since my rifle is a pre 64 action I'm guessing its like the action in the SPR line of Fn's rifles?

Then you will have to machine the action. An aics mag will not sit far enough up in the fn action to feed without milling the receiver.

Why bother with a copy, we pioneered the DBM for the FN, and don't worry the action machining, its easy and we can totally help you get it running..we have our summer sale, Free install with DBM purchase. Its a Virtual Drop in, and we can have it done in 2-3 weeks turnaround. Plus better service than anyone around..try us, you will be happy

dont get me wrong, im fully aware of your quality and customer service, just weighing my options and trying to get things straight.

so i realisticly have only 2 options... the FN TBM(assuming its a drop in) for $400 or you guys(CDI)........which at this point is the best option. i was aware of your special and now that i have all the information i can make the correct decision,.....CDI

if im gonna have it done i want it right.

Hard to argue with an offer like that... I had pretty much decided I would just deal with the crappy factory mag but that is really tempting.
