I had read on some other posts that the Pact models of chronographs are problem ridden. Does this statement really hold water? If so, can someone please give me some personal examples of what really may be the case?

I may have the ability to pick one of these up cheap, but regardless of price, I don't want to spend the money if this unit sucks.

Thanks

Re: Pact MKIII Chronograph

I used one with the print driver IR LED output for about 20 (+?) years, until it bounced out of the back of the truck and vanished. Never a problem, though shooting with the sun to your back can result in bad readings from the gas cloud tripping the start screen early with subsonic loads.

Replaced it with a unit with the shot timer built in. It seems to eat batteries faster, but is otherwise as problem free. The last battery passed the taste test, but was 7.6 volts or so--not enough to run the thing.

I use mine at least monthly.
