Gonna have my Badger DBM Cerakote'd but want to ask if I need to dismantle the release before painting or not. If so, what is the best way to do that?

If you're having it done professionally, it will be done for you but yes
If you need to do it. Put the DBM on a block with the roll pin hanging over the edge then knock it out with a 3/32 punch and remove the latch and spring .
