Has anyone painted one before. wandering if it would constrict the heat loss and defet the purpose of getting the carbon barrel. ??

If you absolutely have to put paint on the barrel it can be done within these guidelines.
1. Use Norrell Moly Resin
2. Shoot the paint through a laundry bag. This leaves enough of the carbon exposed to limit the interference with thermal dissipation.
Understand that if you put paint on a high rate of fire gas gun barrel it will cause more issues than if you spray a bolt gun barrel.
